Ingredients
  

For the Shrimp
  • 1 pound Large shrimp fresh or thawed
  • 1/2 cup Buttermilk helps tenderize the shrimp
For the Coating
  • 1 cup All-purpose flour creates a crispy outer layer
  • 1/2 cup Cornmeal adds extra crunch
  • 1 teaspoon Paprika use smoked for extra kick
  • 1/2 teaspoon Garlic powder enhances overall taste
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Peel and devein the shrimp, leaving the tails on. Rinse under cold water and pat dry.
  2. In a bowl, combine flour, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together the egg and buttermilk until smooth.
  4. Dip each shrimp into the buttermilk mixture, then roll in the seasoned flour mixture until fully coated.
  5. Heat about 2 inches of vegetable oil in a skillet to 350°F.
  6. Fry the shrimp in batches for 2-3 minutes per side until golden brown and crispy.
  7. Transfer cooked shrimp to a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil. Serve hot.
