  • 1 head Green cabbage sliced into wedges
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil for sautéing
  • 2 cloves Garlic minced

  • 1 teaspoon Black pepper to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon Red pepper flakes optional
For Serving (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh parsley for garnish
  • 1 lemon Lemon wedges for serving

Method
 

Prepare the Cabbage
  1. Slice a head of cabbage into wedges, ensuring each piece retains its core.
Sauté the Aromatics
  1. Heat a drizzle of olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add minced garlic and onion, stirring until they become fragrant and golden brown, about 3-4 minutes.
Add the Cabbage
  1. Place the cabbage wedges in the skillet, cut side down. Cook for about 5 minutes without stirring.
Deglaze the Pan
  1. Pour in a splash of vegetable broth or white wine, scraping up any flavorful bits stuck to the bottom of the pan.
Cover and Cook
  1. Lower the heat and cover the skillet with a lid. Let it steam for 15-20 minutes until the cabbage is tender.
Season to Taste
  1. Remove the lid and season with salt, pepper, and a squeeze of lemon juice.
