Ingredients
  

Base Ingredients
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar packed
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
Spices and Flavorings
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper optional for heat

Method
 

Prepare the Sauce
  1. In a saucepan, combine ketchup, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, honey, and Worcestershire sauce.
  2. Whisk the ingredients together until smooth.
  3. Add smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, salt, and cayenne pepper. Stir to combine.
Cook the Sauce
  1. Place the saucepan over medium heat and bring the mixture to a simmer.
  2. Reduce heat to low and let simmer for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  3. Remove from heat and let cool before using or storing.
