Hawaiian Garlic Shrimp

Ingredients
  

Shrimp
  • 1 pound large shrimp peeled and deveined
Garlic Butter Sauce
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter divided
  • 6 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes optional
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice freshly squeezed
To Serve
  • 2 cups cooked rice white or brown
  • 2 tablespoons chopped green onions for garnish

Method
 

Prepare the Shrimp
  1. In a large skillet, melt 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat.
  2. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  3. Add the shrimp to the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until they turn pink and opaque.
Make the Sauce
  1. Stir in the soy sauce, lemon juice, and red pepper flakes (if using).
  2. Cook for an additional 1-2 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken slightly.
  3. Remove from heat and stir in the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter until melted.
Serve
  1. Serve the garlic shrimp over cooked rice and garnish with chopped green onions.

Notes
