Garlic Butter Steak with Zucchini

Ingredients
  

For the Steak
  • 1 lb Steak of choice (ribeye or sirloin)
  • 3 cloves Garlic cloves minced
  • 4 tbsp Butter unsalted
  • 1 tbsp Olive oil
For the Zucchini
  • 2 medium Zucchini sliced thinly
  • to taste Salt
  • to taste Pepper
  • optional Fresh herbs (thyme or rosemary)

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Bring your steak to room temperature for about 30 minutes.
  2. Sprinkle both sides of the steak with salt and pepper. Optionally add garlic powder.
  3. Heat a cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat and add a tablespoon of oil.
  4. Sear the steak for about 4-5 minutes on each side until browned.
  5. Reduce heat to medium, add butter and minced garlic to the pan, and let it melt.
  6. Baste the steak with the melted garlic butter as it finishes cooking.
  7. In a separate pan, heat olive oil and sauté sliced zucchini until tender, about 4-5 minutes.
  8. Slice the rested steak against the grain and serve alongside the sautéed zucchini.
