  • 1 cup quinoa rinsed
  • 2 cups water or vegetable broth for added flavor
  • 1 pinch salt optional

Method
 

Cooking Quinoa
  1. Rinse the quinoa under cold water using a fine mesh strainer to remove the bitter coating.
  2. In a medium saucepan, combine the rinsed quinoa, water (or broth), and salt.
  3. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium-high heat.
  4. Once boiling, reduce the heat to low, cover, and simmer for about 15 minutes, or until the quinoa is fluffy and the liquid is absorbed.
  5. Remove from heat and let it sit covered for 5 minutes.
  6. Fluff the quinoa with a fork before serving.
