Classic Strawberry Pretzel Salad

Ingredients
  

Crust
  • 2 cups crushed pretzels
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter melted
Filling
  • 8 oz cream cheese softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup whipped topping
Topping
  • 2 cups strawberries sliced
  • 1 cup strawberry gelatin prepared

Method
 

Prepare the Crust
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). In a mixing bowl, combine crushed pretzels, sugar, and melted butter. Mix well.
  2. Press the mixture into the bottom of a 9x13 inch baking dish. Bake for 10 minutes, then let cool.
Make the Filling
  1. In a bowl, beat the softened cream cheese and sugar until smooth. Fold in the whipped topping until well combined.
  2. Spread the cream cheese mixture over the cooled pretzel crust.
Prepare the Topping
  1. Arrange the sliced strawberries over the cream cheese layer.
  2. Pour the prepared strawberry gelatin over the strawberries. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours until set.
