Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Sift together 1 cup of almond flour and 1 ¾ cups of powdered sugar in a bowl.
- In a separate bowl, whip 3 large egg whites until soft peaks form. Gradually add ¼ cup of granulated sugar and continue to whip until glossy, stiff peaks form (about 5-7 minutes).
- Gently fold the dry ingredients into the whipped egg whites in three additions until the batter flows smoothly like lava.
- Transfer the batter into a piping bag fitted with a round tip and pipe small circles onto the prepared baking sheets, leaving space between each macaron.
- Let your piped macarons sit at room temperature for about 30-60 minutes until they develop a thin skin on top.
- Bake the macarons for 15-18 minutes or until they are firm and slightly risen.
