Method
Prepare the Shrimp
- Peel and devein about a pound of fresh shrimp. Rinse under cold water and pat dry with paper towels.
Make the Batter
- In a bowl, whisk together 1 cup of flour, 1 teaspoon of paprika, and a pinch of salt.
Coat the Shrimp
- Dip each shrimp into the batter, ensuring they’re well-coated. Let excess batter drip off before frying.
Fry the Shrimp
- Heat oil in a deep skillet to 350°F (175°C). Fry the shrimp in batches for about 2-3 minutes until golden brown and crispy.
Make the Sauce
- In a small bowl, combine ½ cup mayonnaise, 2 tablespoons sweet chili sauce, and a squeeze of lime juice. Stir until smooth.
Assemble the Tacos
- Warm your taco shells briefly in the oven or microwave. Place a layer of shredded cabbage inside each shell and top with crispy shrimp.
Drizzle with Sauce
- Generously drizzle your homemade bang bang sauce over the shrimp-filled tacos. Optionally garnish with fresh cilantro.
