Ingredients
  

For the Shrimp
  • 1 lb Large shrimp fresh or thawed
  • 1/2 cup Cornstarch for crispy coating
  • to taste Salt and pepper basic seasoning
For the Bang Bang Sauce
  • 1/2 cup Mayonnaise creamy base
  • 2 tbsp Sweet chili sauce for sweetness and heat
  • to taste tbsp Sriracha adjust for spice
For the Tacos
  • 8 Corn tortillas for holding the filling
  • 2 cups Shredded cabbage for crunch
  • 1 Lime wedges for serving

Method
 

Prepare the Shrimp
  1. Peel and devein about a pound of fresh shrimp. Rinse under cold water and pat dry with paper towels.
Make the Batter
  1. In a bowl, whisk together 1 cup of flour, 1 teaspoon of paprika, and a pinch of salt.
Coat the Shrimp
  1. Dip each shrimp into the batter, ensuring they’re well-coated. Let excess batter drip off before frying.
Fry the Shrimp
  1. Heat oil in a deep skillet to 350°F (175°C). Fry the shrimp in batches for about 2-3 minutes until golden brown and crispy.
Make the Sauce
  1. In a small bowl, combine ½ cup mayonnaise, 2 tablespoons sweet chili sauce, and a squeeze of lime juice. Stir until smooth.
Assemble the Tacos
  1. Warm your taco shells briefly in the oven or microwave. Place a layer of shredded cabbage inside each shell and top with crispy shrimp.
Drizzle with Sauce
  1. Generously drizzle your homemade bang bang sauce over the shrimp-filled tacos. Optionally garnish with fresh cilantro.
