Ingredients
- 4–5 medium fresh peaches, sliced
- 1 cup unsalted butter (divided)
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 large egg
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease an 8×8 inch baking dish.
- In a saucepan over medium heat, melt half the butter until browned; set aside to cool slightly.
- Whisk together flour, brown sugar, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt in a bowl.
- In another bowl, combine remaining melted butter, vanilla extract, and egg until mixed; then add cooled brown butter.
- Gently combine wet and dry ingredients until crumbly but holds together; reserve half for topping.
- Press half the dough into the bottom of the prepared dish. Layer sliced peaches evenly on top and sprinkle reserved crumble over them.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown on top. Cool slightly before cutting into squares.
