Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp instant yeast
  • 1 cup warm water (110°F/43°C)
  • ¼ cup olive oil
  • 2 tbsp fresh rosemary (finely chopped)
  • 4 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp salt

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine warm water and sugar, sprinkle yeast on top, and let sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour and salt. Create a well in the center; add the yeast mixture and olive oil.
  3. Mix until combined into a shaggy dough. Knead on a floured surface for about 8 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Place dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let rise in a warm place until doubled in size (about 1 hour).
  5. Punch down the dough and roll into a rectangle. Spread minced garlic and rosemary over it before cutting into squares.
  6. Stack squares in a greased loaf pan; preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake for around 25 minutes until golden brown.
