Ingredients
Scale
- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 ¼ tsp active dry yeast
- ½ cup sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 cup whole milk (warmed)
- ½ cup unsalted butter (softened)
- 4 large eggs (room temperature)
- 2 cups fresh raspberries
Instructions
- Activate the yeast by mixing warm milk with sugar and yeast in a small bowl. Let sit until frothy (about 5 minutes).
- In a large bowl, combine flour and salt. Make a well in the center and add the yeast mixture, melted butter, and eggs. Mix until a sticky dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let rise in a warm place until doubled in size (about 1 hour).
- Toss raspberries with sugar in another bowl while waiting.
- Punch down the risen dough and roll it into a rectangle. Spread raspberries evenly over the dough, roll tightly, and place in a greased loaf pan.
- Allow to rise again until puffy (about 30 minutes), then bake at 350°F (175°C) for 35–40 minutes until golden brown.
