- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast (1 packet)
- 1 cup pumpkin puree
- 1 tsp chai spice blend
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup whole milk
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter (melted)
- 2 large eggs
Instructions
- Prepare the Dough: In a bowl, combine warm milk and yeast; let sit until frothy (about 5 minutes). In another bowl, mix flour, brown sugar, chai spice blend, and salt. Add melted butter and eggs to the yeast mixture, then gradually incorporate dry ingredients until a soft dough forms.
- Knead the Dough: Turn onto a floured surface; knead for 5 minutes until smooth. Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place until doubled (about 1 hour).
- Roll Out the Dough: Punch down the dough; roll out on a floured surface to a rectangle about 1/2 inch thick.
- Add Filling: Spread pumpkin puree over the dough; sprinkle with brown sugar and chai spice blend. Roll tightly into a log.
- Slice and Arrange: Cut into equal pieces (about 1 inch thick). Place in a greased baking dish.
- Bake: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C); cover rolls and let rise for another 20 minutes. Bake for about 25 minutes until golden brown.
