Ingredients
Scale
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (about 1 lb)
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 2 tsp garlic powder
- 2 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- Oil for frying (enough to cover the bottom of the skillet)
Instructions
- Cut chicken breasts into strips and marinate in buttermilk mixed with salt and pepper for at least 1 hour.
- Prepare a breading station with three shallow dishes: one with flour mixed with garlic powder and paprika, one with beaten eggs, and one empty for finished tenders.
- Remove chicken from marinade, allowing excess liquid to drip off. Coat each strip in the flour mixture, dip in eggs, then coat again in flour.
- Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat until hot (about 350°F). Fry chicken strips in batches for about 5-7 minutes until golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature should reach at least 165°F).
- Transfer cooked tenders to paper towels to drain excess oil before serving.
