Description

Cinnamon rolls are the ultimate comfort food, with their warm, gooey centers and irresistible aroma. These homemade delights are easy to prepare and perfect for any occasion, from cozy weekend breakfasts to festive gatherings. With soft, fluffy dough and a sweet cinnamon filling drizzled with creamy icing, these rolls will have everyone reaching for seconds.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 cup whole milk (warm)
  • 1/3 cup melted butter
  • 2 tbsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar (light or dark)
  • 1 cup powdered sugar (for icing)

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine warm milk and sugar. Sprinkle yeast over and let sit for 5 minutes until frothy. Stir in melted butter, salt, and flour until a shaggy dough forms.
  2. Turn dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 5 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  3. Place in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let rise in a warm place until doubled (about 1 hour).
  4. Mix brown sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl.
  5. Punch down the risen dough and roll it into a rectangle on a floured surface. Spread melted butter over it and sprinkle with the sugar-cinnamon mix.
  6. Starting from one long side, tightly roll up the dough into a log shape. Slice into equal pieces (about 1-2 inches thick) using dental floss or a sharp knife.
  7. Place rolls in a greased baking dish, cover with plastic wrap, and let rise again for about 30 minutes.
  8. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  9. Mix powdered sugar with milk until smooth; drizzle over warm rolls.
