Description

Autumn Spice Pear Cobbler is a warm and inviting dessert that perfectly embodies the essence of fall. With juicy, spiced pears nestled under a golden-brown, flaky topping, this cobbler is a comforting treat for chilly evenings. Serve it warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or whipped cream for an extra indulgent experience that evokes nostalgic memories of family gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 ripe pears, peeled and sliced
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour (or gluten-free flour)
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
  • 1/2 cup milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a baking dish.
  2. Toss sliced pears with granulated sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice in a bowl. Spread evenly in the prepared dish.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, remaining sugars, cinnamon, and salt. Cut in the cold butter until crumbly and stir in milk until just combined.
  4. Pour the batter over the pears; it doesn’t need to cover them completely.
  5. Bake for 35-40 minutes or until golden brown and bubbly around the edges. Let cool slightly before serving warm with ice cream or whipped cream.
